Richland Real Estate & City Information

Richland Marina Park

Richland Community

Richland was originally a farming community. In 1943 the population jumped from 1,500 to 51,000 when the government built the first nuclear reactor at the Hanford site.

The Hanford site continues to play a large roll in the Tri-City economy and the science and technology communities worldwide. The Hanford area consists of the actual building site and also many different companies that have contracts to do all of the work that is necessary to do the clean up project as well as other related projects that are on going.

The beautiful Hanford Reach is the last free-flowing stretch of the Columbia River in the United States. It has been designated as a National Monument. There are boat trips that go up the Columbia River to show the original City of Hanford as well as the wildlife. The boat operators are very informative and are very willing to answer any questions that their fellow passengers have.

Richland Howard Amon Park

Richland Outdoor Activities

There are 2 large, river front parks, in Richland. They are Leslie Grove Park and Howard Amon Park. There are docks, beaches, playgrounds and picnic areas as well as lots of large trees that make these parks wonderful for family gatherings. There is also a very long walking, jogging & biking path that goes along the Columbia River.

Richland also offers a skateboard park, the Columbia River Exhibition of History, a Science and Technology Museum and the Three Rivers Arts & Entertainment District. There is a wonderful Community Center that has lots of activities for the whole community.

Richland Kadlec Medical Center

Richland Medical Community

We have a very large medical community throughout all of the Tri-City area. There are 3 hospitals with Kadlec Medical Center being the largest and is located in Richland. There has just been a new 6 story River Pavilion built with the opportunity to expand 4 more stories. This is the tallest building in the Tri-Cities, at this time. Our medical community is very extensive and includes many medical clinics as well as a Cancer Center and more.

Because of our wonderful climate you can enjoy many outdoor activities as well as golfing on our numerous beautiful golf courses. We are also within a couple of hours of the Cascade and the Blue Mountains to enjoy all of the winter sports. If you enjoy wine we have lots of great wineries in our communities as well as having access to Wine Country Road that is minutes away.

The whole Tri-City area is a great place to live, work and or to raise a family. Come to visit and you will want to stay.
